Special summer campaign aimed at
motorcyclists
Once again this year,
Ponle Freno
has launched an initiative as part of
theannual summer 'HolidayGetaway'. Theaim is to reinforce itsmessage
when there is themost trafficon the roads.
In 2013,
Ponle Freno
decided to focus its special summer campaign on
motorcyclists, as they are the most vulnerable group on the roads. The
DGT estimates that there are close to five million motorcycles and, al-
though the accident rate for this type of vehicle has been falling signifi-
cantlyandcontinually formanyyears,more than400 lives lost eachyear
is still toohigh a figure tonotwork to reduce it.

condition' campaign
In June, the
PonleFrenoPlatform
again called formembers of thepublic
tobecome involved and report any badly locatedor damaged signs and
roads inpoor condition. In this thirdcampaign,more than 100complaints
havebeen received and all of thesehavebeenprocessed and sent to the
corresponding government departments for action. During this period,
24% of complaints received have been rectified, whilst 26% are currently
being repaired.
In this edition,
PonleFreno
has takena step further byoffering thepublic
anew free application that allows them to send their complaints via their
mobilephones.
Record involvement and fund raising for theV

Ponle Freno
held the fifth edition of its fun run inMadrid's El RetiroPark
on 1st December 2013. The event has become an exciting annual fixture
that this year has broken records in terms of both the number of people
takingpart and themoney raised, withmore than 17,000people running
for road safety andmore than€172,000 raised.
