TheHospital AssistanceProgramme has helped
more than 100,000 children
The Hospital Assistance Programme was launched in 2006 tomake the
timehospitalisedchildrenand their families spend inhospitalmorepleas-
ant. Currently there are 118hospitals takingpart in the initiative andmore
than 100,000 childrenhavebenefited.
In 2013, 23 new hospitals were added to the programme as a result of
agreements signedwith theministries in theBalearic Islands andAndalu-
sia, and theadditionof newcentres inAutonomousCommunities already
involved.
Over the year, the
Foundation
has also proposed to strengthen the pro-
gramme in the centres where it already operates, through personalised
visits tohospitalsandministries that haveallowed it tobetter understand
theneedsof eachcentreand takemeasures toadapt theproject to these.
In total, there havebeen visits to threeministries (Catalonia, Navarre, Ex-
tremadura and the Community of Valencia) and six hospitals. For the
samepurpose, it hascreatedagroupof 'ambassadors', composedof del-
egates from the Group and staff from
Onda Cero
, who ensure that the
programme is being monitored and maintain a close and frequent dia-
loguewith stakeholders.
TheCanal Fan3 channel increases its
programming
Canal Fan3
plays a particularly important rolewithin the Hospital Assis-
tance Programme. This is a free television channel, without advertising,
designed for hospitalised children and young people and seeks to help
themwhile they are being treated, offering them information relating to
the illness and its treatment in an entertaining and informativeway.
In 2013, the channel increased its programmingwithmore than 20 hours
of entertainment and launchednew sections.
Canal Fan3 received various awards in 2013, including theCitizens
Award; theGradaAward, whichhas also recognised theworkof
ProyectoPro, also runby theAtresmediaFoundation; and theProdis
Awards; awardedby theCommittee for EntitiesRepresentingPeople
withDisabilities of theCommunityofMadrid (CERMI).
