widest audience.
This newplatform is available on all devices: PCs, smartphones (iOS, An-
droid, Windows 8 andWindows Phone), tablets (iOS, Android andWin-
dows 8), smart TVs (SamsungSmart TV) and consoles (XboxOne).
Multichannel Networks andVertical Channels
A new themed content plan (vertical content) has been implement-
ed with a view to attracting new users. The definition of themed areas
of commercial interest has led to the launch of seven vertical websites:
(technology),
(science),
com
(video games),
(fashion),
(travel), Kidz
(children) and
(sports).
Together with those that already exist -
(celebrities),
(cinema) and
(online games) - they
account for 20%of total
audience figures.
Continuing on with the generation of new content and in order to gen-
erate an impact on new audiences, a new official YouTube channel man-
agement policy has been launched through the creation of Multichannel
Networks onYouTube (MCNs). This initiative is aimed at obtainingmaxi-
mumperformance fromexistingcontent andopeningupnewproduction
and content creation channels through agreementswith thirdparties for
international product exploitation.
With thecreationof newMCNs, thedevelopmentofwhich runs inparallel
to the vertical websites, wewant togivegreater audience stability to the
Atresmedia
websites and minimise the seasonality of television sched-
ules.
Among the new channels created in 2013, the following are particularly
noteworthy:
