From 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Atresmedia Volunteers, consisting of employees, their families, and friends, collaborated with the Soñar Despierto Foundation in a reconditioning activity for one of the apartments for former foster youth managed by the organization. They assembled furniture and painted walls, with other needs of the shelter.
In the past five years, the number of foster children in Spain has increased by 18%, surpassing 50,000 for the first time. This reality highlights the need for continued societal support, as these young people must leave the foster care system at 18 and begin the search for housing, often leading to situations of extreme precariousness. Therefore, the work of organizations like Soñar Despierto is crucial in providing them with the financial, familial, and educational support they would not have without such help.
A big thank you to all the employees, families, and friends who participated, and to the Soñar Despierto Foundation for helping to make their living conditions as normal as possible!
