Additionally, the Group has offset part of these emissions by acquiring absorption rights from the “Galicia Rexenera: Lapa Furada” compensation project in Vigo, through which it will offset 7.5% of the scope 1+2 emissions released in 2023. The Group has offset 165 tons of CO2 equivalent to emissions from the use of refrigerant gases.

This offset, along with the calculation of the carbon footprint for 2023, has been recorded in the carbon footprint, offsetting, and carbon dioxide absorption projects register of the Ministry for Ecological Transition. With this, Atresmedia has obtained for the first time the recognized ‘Calculo y compenso’ seal from MITECO.

The Group continues to work towards progressively reducing its greenhouse gas emissions (scope 1, 2, and 3) to meet the decarbonization goals of its Zero Net strategy for 2030 and 2050.

Regarding 2030, Atresmedia has committed to reducing its scope 1+2 emissions by 86.1% compared to its baseline year (2019). Thanks to the various measures implemented, the Group had achieved a 79.6% reduction by the end of 2023, moving closer to its target.
