Forética held a new edition of its annual event 'ESG Spain 2024: Corporate Sustainability Forum,' a forum that, after twelve editions, has established itself as the leading business meeting on sustainability in Spain. The event featured the participation of Javier Bardají, CEO of Atresmedia.
In this forum, over 20 speakers discussed the main trends in social, environmental, and governance matters, which will lay the groundwork for achieving a sustainable future. These trends were addressed by national and international opinion leaders, recognized for their contributions to corporate sustainability.
The event included presentations by senior company representatives who discussed how businesses can drive these trends from a corporate perspective, positioning companies as key actors in the process of sustainable transformation. Javier Bardají, CEO of Atresmedia, participated in the panel titled 'Raising Ambition on Sustainability from Senior Management,' highlighting the importance of "making social sustainability inherent to our activity as a media company. We must continue working to place it at the core of our operations and the company's purpose."
Once again, the event featured specific sessions addressing environmental and social issues. On the social side, the discussion focused on how social matters within companies are becoming more strategic, driven by European regulations and increasing demands from consumers, employees, and investors.
The Forum cocluded with a block on environmental issues, which addressed how business commitment to the 'net zero' goal for 2050 and the ambition to be 'net positive' in biodiversity by 2030 are marking a key path towards an orderly environmental transition.
This edition has also served to review the last decades of the trajectory of business sustainability in Spain, coinciding with the anniversary of Forética, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary.
