In January
2020, Atresmedia broadcasted for the second consecutive year Fundación GAEM’s campaign
‘Yo doy mis pasos’ (‘I take my steps’), aimed at increasing funding for
biomedical research projects to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. In the spot
broadcast on all Atresmedia television channels, the population is encouraged
to record their daily steps and transform them into donations against this
disease. Currently, they have logged more than 9 million kilometers that have
been converted into funds to improve research.
Likewise,
in July this year, Atresmedia Group supported the campaign of the social entity
Esclerosis Múltiple España called ‘Mójate por la Esclerosis Múltiple’, an
action of social awareness and solidarity with the 55,000 people who have
Multiple Sclerosis in our country. Also for the second year in a row,
Atresmedia spread the campaign in all its communication channels, which was
aimed at increasing the visibility of this disease as well as raising funds to
maintain and improve the services provided by patient organizations.
This
collaboration of the Company with both campaigns is part of the pro-bono
project of Atresmedia Group, whereby it broadcasts advertising communications
at no cost for social entities that meet certain requirements. With this
initiative, the company disseminates the work of numerous foundations and
associations that serve people with disabilities, by broadcasting their
advertising spots on all its TV channels, radio stations and digital platforms.
These free campaigns increase their number of members, as well as their
capacity to raise social awareness and to explain the social problems that they
tackle.
