This agreement will enable a group of young people with whom Fundación Capacis works to receive a grant funded entirely by Atresmedia to take the "Communication Techniques" course, with sessions that will be held in the training classrooms of the Atresmedia facilities. The aim of this course, developed by Atresmedia Formación, is for the grantees to improve, through highly practical sessions and mostly in online format, their communication skills with a view to the selection interviews they face and their own professional performance. This initiative is designed to reinforce the training programme in which they participate on a daily basis at Fundación Capacis.

The Corporate General Manager and Director of Fundación Atresmedia, Patricia Pérez, and the President of the Fundación Capacis, Fátima de Dolarea, signed the agreement at the headquarters of the audiovisual group, in a ceremony attended by Lucio Fernández, Director of Human Resources at Atresmedia, and Susana Gato, Director of Corporate Responsibility at Atresmedia and Deputy Director of Fundación Atresmedia.

This new alliance is part of the training scholarship programme for people with disabilities promoted by Atresmedia, in which other entities committed to diversity and the inclusion of this target group in the workplace already participate, and which is intended to continue. In fact, given the success of the first edition, which took place during the 2020/21 academic year and which closed with 35 scholarships awarded, Atresmedia has opened a second edition, adding new alliances, for the 2021/22 academic year.

Patricia Pérez highlighted the importance of this initiative: "This scholarship project that we created at Atresmedia almost two years ago is a materialisation of the Group's commitment to the training of people with disabilities, so that they can improve their employment opportunities and facilitate their full inclusion in society. We are very excited about signing this agreement and what better way to do it than on this commemorative day to promote and advance their rights".

For her part, Fátima de Dolarea thanked Atresmedia for its support and trust: "Thank you for contributing to our work and thank you for giving us the opportunity to give a voice to such an invisible group as ours”. “This collaboration and this 'Communication Techniques' course is a great opportunity for many of our young people with borderline intelligence and mild intellectual disabilities to acquire the tools they need to be able to build their own future", said the president of Fundación Capacis during the signing ceremony on Friday.

Also on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and with the same objective of continuing to make progress in their integration, Atresmedia has supported the communication campaign #IgualdeDiferentes #IgualdeProfesionales to raise awareness among its employees about the situations that people in this group experience on a daily basis and to promote the normalisation of disability in the workplace.

The promotion of equality and diversity is part of the commitments made by Atresmedia in its General Corporate Responsibility Policy and in its Human Resources Policy. This commitment is embodied in the Company's Equality Plan, as well as in a disability management strategy that revolves around three lines of action, all of which are equal priorities: ‘Employability and Training’, encouraging the recruitment and training of people with disabilities in order to achieve their integration into the workplace; ‘External and Internal Awareness’, through its content and advertising spaces, as well as through Corporate Volunteering and different internal awareness-raising initiatives; and ‘Content Accessibility’, in order to guarantee the right to information for all people, regardless of their hearing or visual ability.

About Fundación Capacis

Fundación Capacis mission for the last ten years has been to accompany young people with borderline intelligence and mild intellectual disabilities in building their own future. Being such an unknown profile, between normality and disability, there are many families who live every day with uncertainty, so the organisation accompanies them on their way through adapted training, support and, above all, a lot of affection, with the aim of giving these young people back their self-confidence and bringing out all their abilities to make them the best professionals and above all the best people.

Through this new project with Fundación Capacis, Atresmedia collaborates in the achievement of two Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reducing Inequalities).
