This agreement will allow a group of young people with whom Fundación Capacis works to receive a scholarship fully financed by Atresmedia to take the "Communication Techniques" course, with sessions that will also be given in the training rooms of the Atresmedia facilities. The goal of this course, developed by Atresmedia Formación, is to improve, through eminently practical sessions and mostly in online format, their communication skills for the work interviews they fase. This initiative is proposed as a reinforcement of the training program in which Fundación Capacis participates daily.
The Corporate General Director and director of Fundación Atresmedia, Patricia Pérez, and the president of Fundación Capacis, Fátima de Dolarea, signed the agreement at the headquarters of the media group, in an act that was attended by Lucio Fernández, Director of Human Resources at Atresmedia, and Susana Gato, Director of Corporate Responsibility at Atresmedia and Deputy Director of Fundación Atresmedia.
This new alliance is part of the training scholarship program for people with disabilities promoted by Atresmedia in which other entities committed to diversity and labor inclusion of this group already participate, and which has a vocation for continuity. In fact, given the success of the first edition, which took place during the 2020/21 academic year and ended with 35 scholarships awarded, Atresmedia has opened a second edition, adding new alliances, for the 2021/22 academic year.
An initiative whose importance was highlighted by Patricia Pérez: "This scholarship project that we created at Atresmedia almost two years ago means materializing the Group's commitment to training people with disabilities, so that they can improve their employment opportunities and facilitate their full inclusion in society. We are very excited about signing this agreement”.
Fátima de Dolarea wanted to thank Atresmedia for its support and trust: “Thank you for contributing to our work and thank you for giving us the opportunity to give a voice to a group as invisible as ours”. "This collaboration and this 'Communication Techniques' course is a great opportunity for many of our young people with borderline intelligence and mild intellectual disability to acquire the tools they need to be able to build their own future", said the president of the Fundación Capacis.
The promotion of equality and diversity forms part of the commitments made by Atresmedia in its General Corporate Responsibility Policy and in its Human Resources Policy. This commitment materializes in the Company's Equality Plan, as well as in a disability management strategy that revolves around three lines of action, all of which are of equal priority: Employability and Training, promoting the hiring and training of people with disabilities in order to achieve their integration into the world of work, External and Internal Awareness, through its content and advertising spaces, as well as from the Corporate Volunteering and different internal awareness initiatives, and Accessibility of the Contents, with the in order to guarantee the right to information of all people, regardless of their hearing or visual capacity.
About Fundación Capacis
Fundación Capacis's mission is to accompany young people with borderline intelligence and mild intellectual disability in building their own future. Being such an unknown profile, between normality and disability, there are many families who live every day with uncertainty, so the organization accompanies them on their way through adapted training, support and, above all, a lot of love, with the objective of restoring these young people's confidence in themselves and bringing to light all their abilities to turn them into the best professionals and, above all, the best people.
With this new project reached with Fundación Capacis, Atresmedia collaborates in the achievement of two Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4: Quality education and SDG 10: Reduction of inequalities.
