Mauricio Casals was born in Barcelona in 1949. He holds a Degree in Law from the Universidad Central de Barcelona. He has spent his career within the field of consultancy.

Currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of AUDIOVISUAL ESPAÑOLA 2000, S.L. (La Razón) and member of the Board of Directors of Atresmedia Corporación. He is a trustee of Fundación Atresmedia and, as representative of La Razón, a member of the Board of Trustees of FAD (Fundación Ayuda contra la drogadicción) and of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía.
