José Antonio Antón

Mr. Antón holds a degree in Communication from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Master's degree in Film and Television from the University of California, Los Angeles. He joined the Atresmedia management team in December 2012 as Director of Programming for Atresmedia Televisión. Since then, Mr Antón has been assuming new responsibilities until taking on the position of Director of Content in 2022, overseeing all areas of Production, Content, OTT services and Digital Distribution and Programming Strategy.

José Antonio Antón began his professional career in 1997 at Telemadrid, where he coordinated the launch of the company's new DTT channels. From there he joined Hearst Entertainment as Broadcast Manager and was part of the team that launched Cosmo TV in Spain. In 2000 he moved to Los Angeles (USA), where he worked for almost 2 years as a Creative Production Assistant at Fox Television Studios.

In 2002 Mr Antón returned to Spain and joined AXN (Sony Pictures) as Programming Coordinator. From 2003 he specialised in Programming, Production and Programme Acquisitions, returning to Cosmopolitan for a while before becoming Director of Programming, Acquisitions, On-Air and Broadcast Operations at RTVE until 2011. He then joined NBC Universal as Vice President of Distribution for Spain and Portugal.
